5 Tips for a Bridesmaids' Speech

Your best friend is getting married and she's asked you to be her maid of honor! Here are 5 simple tips for a bridesmaids speech.

Yes, you will be politely expected to stand up and speak to the guests about your best friend {the bride}. Ready? I thought not -- ok, here are 5 simple tips to help you look your best and be prepared.
#1 Introduce yourself and give a brief introduction about how you know the bride.
#2 Share an experience the two of you have that defines your friendship. Try not to embarrass the bride to an extreme; you want to remain friends after the wedding.
#3 Write it down. Don't rely on your memory. A lot will be happening and you will probably be tired, may have had a few drinks etc by the time it's your turn to toast the couple. A small index card with your speech is perfectly acceptable and will ensure you deliver it well. Be prepared.
#4 Practice speaking in front of the mirror at home. Stand up straight, shoulders back, head up; basically what your 5th grade teacher kept telling you.
#5 Close your speech with congratulations and a toast to the happy couple! {Don't forget to congratulate them}
